The Association for the Future of Film and Television (AFFT) in Tennessee was founded in April 2007 by Jan Austin, former Deputy Director of the Tennessee Film, Entertainment and Music Commission. During her tenure with the state, Jan was instrumental in researching and writing the Tennessee Film and Television Production Study which became the backbone in the quest for a new incentive program. Her research on incentives coupled with the knowledge of the political workings of the state made her keenly aware of the need to develop an advocacy association for the film and television industry in Tennessee to preserve the strength and success of our entertainment industry.
